The baffle plate and attachment features
A process baffle is a fixed component in a moving fluid or material stream. Its part drawing specifies the profile and details CDS will machine.
- Outside profile includes any specified cutouts and edge details.
- Thickness is measured between the plate faces.
- Mounting holes have drawing-defined sizes and positions.

- Outside profile and thickness
- Show the plate shape, thickness and any curved edges, cutouts or stepped sections. Each version needs its own drawing or dimensional definition.
- Mounting features
- Dimension holes, slots, recesses and any specified mounting details. Identify the machined baffle separately from its carrier, brackets or other hardware.
- Edges and finished surfaces
- Include required edge details, surface finish and dimensional tolerances. A numerical finish or other acceptance requirement needs confirmation for the specific quote.

Replacement baffles from existing parts
An existing baffle, old print or part record can start a replacement request. Identify intact dimensions and the areas affected by wear or distortion.
Records alongside the sample
Reverse engineering documents existing components for manufacture. Worn faces, damaged holes or warped sections may no longer show the original profile.
Provide known dimensions and available material records. Missing geometry and unknown material requirements need clarification before manufacture.
Repeat or revised parts
For a repeat order, give the current part number, revision and previous CDS reference. Supply an updated part drawing for customer-specified changes.
Your material and finish requirements
Provide the exact plastic grade specified for the baffle, including any controlled brand, filler or permitted substitution. CDS confirms material availability and machining scope for the quotation.
Existing material records help identify replacement requirements. Include required material or inspection documentation with the inquiry.

Part records
Part number, revision, specified profile, thickness and mounting details; required tolerances, edges and finish. Mark reliable dimensions and damaged or unknown sample features.
Material and supply
Exact plastic grade, required brand or filler, permitted substitutions and required documents. Identify the machined component and any separate mounts or hardware.
Order details
Quantity by part, new or replacement request, repeat needs, requested timing and previous CDS order reference, if available.
