Turn blocks for conveyor corners

Custom-part machining inquiries for a stationary corner block or track.

Send CDS the drawing, specification or existing block for machining review. Your part definition establishes the curved profile, mounting features and material; CDS confirms the specific manufacturing scope for the request.

This page concerns a passive corner-guiding component. Identify the actual part with its equipment reference or drawing.

The part drawing specifies the curved profile, end features and mounting locations.

Curved profile, end faces and mounting holes

A turn block has a shaped contact face along a conveyor corner. The machining requirement is the block itself, with the curve and attachment details defined by your drawing or existing-part records.

Curved profile and attachment details
  1. Curved profile follows the radius and cross-section on the part drawing.
  2. End face has specified dimensions and any required steps.
  3. Mounting holes are located and dimensioned as part features.

Conceptual view of a corner block alone. The example identifies machining features without specifying a conveyor path, load or installation.

The curved profile

Show the specified radius, angle, cross-section and thickness. Identify mirrored, left-hand or right-hand versions with separate part references.

End and locating faces

Dimension the end faces, steps, recesses and other features. Required tolerances and surface finishes belong on the part drawing.

Mounting details

Give hole, slot and counterbore sizes and locations. Identify separate backing, clamps or hardware when confirming the component to be supplied.

Documenting an existing corner block

A physical block can start a replacement request when its drawing is unavailable. Old prints, part numbers and reliable dimensions help identify the component.

Intact features and worn areas

Reverse engineering documents existing parts for manufacture. Mark the worn curve, damaged holes or altered end faces, and identify any unworn spare or existing dimensional record.

A worn sample may not retain the original profile or material identity. Missing requirements need clarification before machining.

Repeat quantities and revisions

For a previous CDS part, provide the order reference and current revision. Supply an updated drawing for customer-specified changes.

Your specified plastic and grade

Provide the exact material requirement, including any controlled brand, filler or permitted substitution. CDS confirms material availability and machining scope for the quoted block.

If UHMW is specified, UHMW material and machining information explains that material family.

Records for the replacement

An existing material record helps identify the required grade. Include requested material, food-contact or inspection documentation with the inquiry; color alone does not identify the plastic.

Request a corner-block machining quote

Send the part drawing, specification, dimensioned sketch or details of an available sample. Include the equipment and part references used to identify the block.

Part records

Current drawing and revision, specified profile and mounting details, required tolerances and finish. Mark reliable dimensions and worn or unknown sample features.

Material and supply

Exact plastic grade, required brand or filler, permitted substitutions and required documents. Identify the machined block and any separately requested hardware.

Order details

Quantity by part or handed version, repeat needs, requested timing and previous CDS order reference, if available.

Contact CDS before arranging to send a physical block.
