A standard catalogue washer may already match your requirement. For a custom part or unavailable replacement, identify the individual washer and required revision.
Bore, outside diameter and thickness
A washer drawing defines the individual ring or shaped component. Its opening, faces and section need separate dimensions, including any stepped or shoulder features.
- Bore has a specified diameter or profile.
- Outside profile follows the part outline on the drawing.
- Thickness is dimensioned between the washer faces.
Face and edge views of an illustrative plain washer. No fastener, clamp load or joint arrangement is shown. Shoulders and other shaped features need their own customer drawing.
Inside and outside profiles
Specify the bore and outside diameter or shaped outline. Identify their tolerances and reference features on the drawing.
Thickness and faces
Show the required finished thickness and any specified flatness, parallelism or surface finish. A used washer's compressed face may no longer represent that dimension.
Shoulders and other details
A shoulder, recess, step or cup form needs a complete section or drawing view. Its dimensions, material and machining scope require confirmation for the actual washer.
Replacement records and the specified grade
An unavailable washer can start with an older drawing, equipment part record or existing sample. Known dimensions and material records help establish the replacement requirement.
Documenting the existing part
Reverse engineering documents existing-part geometry for manufacture. Flattening, bore damage, worn shoulders or distortion can obscure the original dimensions.
Identify those features and provide an unworn spare or reliable dimensions when available. Customer-specified changes need an updated drawing. Unknown dimensions or material requirements need clarification before machining.
Exact material and documentation
Supply the complete plastic grade, including any required brand, filler or permitted substitution. The material of the fastener or adjacent component does not establish the washer's material.
CDS confirms availability and machining scope for the specified washer. List required material, inspection or other documents. Electrical, food-contact or detection requirements require explicit confirmation for the part and grade.

Part number and revision, inside and outside profiles, thickness, shoulders or recesses. Include specified tolerances, finish and reliable sample dimensions.

Exact grade, required brand or filler, permitted substitutions and requested documents. Identify special requirements and unresolved dimensions or material details.

Quantity by part, repeat needs, requested timing and previous CDS order reference. Configuration, machining scope, material availability and timing require confirmation.
