These fixed components provide sliding surfaces in your equipment. Their part drawings distinguish the profile, overall dimensions and attachment features.
Chain guides
Profiled chain tracks
Guide cross-sections include the channels and raised faces specified for the chain path. Supply a profile drawing or an existing section with known dimensions.
Product guide rails
Side and neck guidance
Rails contact bottles, cans, packages or other products along the line. The drawing identifies the required contact profile, rail length and mounting features.
The guide profile and machined features
The cross-section, length and end details define the guide. Mounting holes, slots and other features need their own dimensions and positions on the drawing.
Manufacture to the part drawing
Specify the contact profile, straight or curved geometry, segment length and end features. Include the hole pattern and any required slots, recesses or attachment details.
The drawing should distinguish finished-part dimensions from measurements of the installed run. Provide required tolerances and the current revision so CDS can quote the component to be supplied.

Replacing a guide without a drawing
An existing guide can be reviewed for reverse engineering and replacement machining. Old drawings, part numbers and known dimensions help document the original component.
Wear or distortion may have changed the contact surface or mounting features. Identify those areas and provide any reliable dimensions already established for the replacement. Missing requirements need clarification before manufacture.
Ordering the same profile again
Provide the part number, current revision and previous order reference, if available. Identify each length or profile separately when requesting several guide sections.
Order the specified UHMW grade
CDS offers virgin, reprocessed, detectable and static-dissipative UHMW options for guides. Provide the exact grade required for your part; CDS confirms the grade, form, availability and documentation for the quotation.

Include any required brand, filler or permitted substitution. Color and the general name UHMW do not identify a complete grade specification.

For a detectable guide, identify the specified formulation and whether the requirement concerns metal detection, X-ray inspection or both. Include the required food-contact records when applicable.

Provide the exact grade and the electrical or inspection requirements stated in your specification. Required documents belong with the quotation so their availability can be confirmed.
