CDS machines custom plastic scrapers from drawings, specifications and physical samples. Request a new blade, an existing-part replacement or repeat quantities for your equipment.
The blade profile and machined details
A scraper provides an edge for removing material from a moving surface. Its part drawing defines the blade itself, including the edge shape, body and attachment features.
- Edge has the bevel, radius or profile specified on the drawing.
- Body has defined length, width and thickness.
- Mounting slots are located and dimensioned as part features.

- Edge profile
- Specify the required bevel, radius or other edge geometry. The drawing should distinguish the finished profile from the edge of a worn sample.
- Length, width and thickness
- Overall dimensions identify the blade blank and finished body. Show any stepped sections or other changes in thickness.
- Holes and slots
- Give the dimensions and positions of mounting features and any recesses. Include required tolerances and surface finish.
The quotation concerns the machined scraper or blade. Identify separate holders, clamp bars or other hardware when confirming supply scope. For a fixed sliding track, see UHMW guides and wear strips.
Replacement blades from existing parts
CDS can review an existing blade for replacement machining when the original drawing is missing. A part number, old print or dimensioned profile helps document the requirement.
Document the existing profile
Reverse engineering documents the existing component. Mark worn edges, damaged holes, repaired areas and any dimensions already established for the replacement.
A worn sample may not retain the original edge or thickness. Missing dimensions and unknown material requirements need clarification before manufacture.
Repeat or customer-revised blades
For a repeat order, provide the current part number, revision and previous CDS order reference. Supply an updated drawing for any specified changes.
Specify the blade material
CDS's scraper work includes UHMW-PE blades for food and water equipment. Provide the exact material and grade required for your blade; CDS confirms material availability and machining scope for the quote.
Include a controlled brand or filler where required, and identify any permitted substitutions. For a replacement, an existing material record is more useful than color or appearance alone.

Part definition
Part number and revision; edge profile, length, width and thickness; holes, slots and additional features; required tolerances and finish. State whether an existing blade is available.
Material and records
Specified plastic and exact grade, required brand or filler, permitted substitutions and material or inspection documents. Identify worn or unknown features when starting from a sample.
Order details
Quantity by profile or revision, repeat needs, requested timing and previous CDS order reference, if available.
