Conveyor lane dividers

Machining inquiries for the plastic divider body or replacement wear face.

CDS can review your drawing, specification or existing divider for custom-part manufacture. Identify the component and its required geometry and material so the machining and supply scope can be confirmed.

The request concerns the machined divider or wear face. Identify a separate carrier or other hardware as a separate supply requirement.

The part specification establishes the nose profile, body dimensions and mounting details.

Nose, contact faces and mounting details

A divider separates products into lanes. The component drawing identifies the profile to be machined, from the nose through the body and attachment features.

Nose, body and mounting holes
  1. Nose has the specified leading contour.
  2. Body profile defines the faces and length of the component.
  3. Mounting holes have their own sizes and positions.

Conceptual component view. The drawing for your part defines its profile, dimensions and attachments; no lane arrangement or sorting mechanism is specified.

Nose profile
The drawing specifies the rounded, tapered or other required leading contour. A worn edge needs a reliable dimensional reference before it is reproduced.
Body and contact faces
Length, height and thickness define the component, with any curves, steps, recesses or edge details separately dimensioned.
Holes and slots
Show mounting sizes and locations, required tolerances and surface finish. Distinguish a complete plastic body from a replaceable face on a separate carrier.

Reproducing an existing divider

A sample can start a replacement machining request when the original drawing is missing. A part number, previous print or unworn spare helps identify the required component.

Document the remaining geometry

Reverse engineering documents existing part features for manufacture. Mark worn noses, damaged holes, bowed sections or previous alterations that may no longer retain the original dimensions.

Provide known dimensions and available material records. Missing features and unknown requirements need clarification before the replacement is made.

Current revisions and repeat needs

For repeat orders, identify the current part number, revision and previous CDS order. Provide an updated drawing for customer-specified changes.

Specify the divider material

Include the exact plastic grade required by your part specification, with any controlled brand, filler or permitted substitutions. CDS confirms the requested material and machining scope for the quotation.

An existing grade record is useful for replacements; appearance alone does not identify the material.

Required documentation

Include any material, food-contact or inspection documents required with the part. Formulation and intended-use requirements must be identified where food-contact documentation is requested.

Request a divider machining quote

Send the component drawing, specification, dimensioned sketch or details of an available sample. Identify the plastic body or wear face required.

Part records

Part number, current revision, specified profile and mounting details, tolerances and finish. Mark reliable reference features and damage when starting with a sample.

Material and supply

Exact plastic grade, required brand or filler, permitted substitutions and required records. Identify any carrier or hardware to be quoted separately.

Order details

Quantity by part, new or replacement request, repeat needs, requested timing and previous CDS order reference, if available.
