CDS machines engineered plastics and supports existing-part documentation for replacements. Send your insulating-ring drawing, specification or sample records to confirm the particular geometry, material and machining scope.
Identify the individual nonmetallic component required. Separate hardware or complete-kit supply requires confirmation.
Bore, outside profile and ring section
A ring-shaped component needs more than an outside diameter. The part drawing specifies its opening, axial length or thickness and any shoulders, flanges, grooves or splits.
- Bore has a specified inside diameter.
- Shoulder has its own diameter and location.
- Axial length runs between the defined end faces.

- Inside and outside profiles
- Give the bore and outside dimensions, including any stepped sections. Show reference features and specified concentricity or other dimensional relationships.
- End faces and shoulders
- Specify the length or thickness between faces and the location of each shoulder or flange. Include flatness, parallelism and surface finish where required.
- Additional part features
- Locate and dimension grooves, splits, holes or counterbores on the drawing. Identify separate components individually so the machining request covers the correct item.

Reproducing an existing insulating ring
An old drawing, equipment part record or unworn spare can help document an unavailable ring.
Sample features and reliable dimensions
Reverse engineering documents existing-part geometry for manufacture. Crushed faces, worn bores, broken edges and distortion may obscure the required dimensions.
Identify damaged features and provide reliable dimensions where available. Customer-specified changes need an updated drawing and revision. Unknown dimensions or material requirements need clarification before machining.
The material specification
Supply the exact manufacturer grade, required stock form, permitted substitutions and any controlling part specification. A sample or similar-looking material cannot establish those requirements.

Start with a drawing, specification, dimensioned sketch or details of an available sample. Identify the individual ring and any separate items requested.
Ring definition
Part number and revision; inside and outside profiles, thickness or length, shoulders, grooves and other features. Include specified tolerances, finish and reliable sample dimensions.
Material and records
Exact grade, required brand or stock form, permitted substitutions and controlling specification. List required documents and unresolved dimensions or material details.
Order details
Quantity by part, repeat needs, requested timing and previous CDS order reference. The quotation confirms configuration, material availability and machining scope.
